Strawberry Gazpacho and Basil

A refreshing and sweet entrée,
Strawberry Gazpacho and Basil

Let's still talk ghost stories here.

Few days ago, I remember I had a chat with my sister. Apparently she was advised by some elders that since his two year old son grew up so close to my dad there will be "according to them" bad spirits that will imitate the form of my dad to entice the child. What(??) I know all these things might sound so absurd but my sister as a mom would just like to protect his son. They told her that the only means to protect him (ok brace yourself) is by wearing something red. So to cut the story short, she had their walls painted in red, changed their curtains to red and bought a bunch of red wardrobe for my nephew. I know this sounds more a funny story than spooky.

So yesterday I just thought that probably I could do my share of sending away all this spooky and bad spirits in my kitchen by concocting something bloody red; my strawberry gazpacho in basil. I guess it worked, for I feel so highly spirited today!

I am sending this recipe to Weekend Herb Blogging.

Strawberry Gazpacho and Basil

250 g of strawberries
1 tbsp of lemon juice
1 tbsp of vinegar of Xeres
2 tbsps of olive oil
3 tbsps bread crumbs
fresh basil leaves (amount depends on your preference)
1 glass of cold water

Clean and cut the heads of your strawberries. Put in an electric mixer all the ingredients and give a good blend according to your desired consistency. Refrigerate for about an hour.
All things Red is beautiful and delicious!

I love highly colored soups and this is as pretty as I've seen. And if it also keeps away bad spirits, this is something we all should make soon! Thanks for entering it in Weekend Herb Blogging.

Very beautiful. I love he ideaof fruit soups. As for the other part, I hear of similar things in my culture. Supposedly the young can see spirits..No matter how much red you have he'll be OK.
