I have always loved cooking. Let's put it this way. I cook for others. When I see the smile on their faces I know that all my efforts are paid off. A year ago, during my pregnancy I lost all my cooking powers and I hated so much being in the kitchen. They said it was due to my hormones. For months my husband suffered eating disgusting food that I cook :-). I thought I will never get back this passion again. The delicious world of blogging has helped me a lot in finding it back. Then I opened this kitchen few months after I gave birth. Everytime I look back at that point of my life I cannot believe my eyes on how fast time flies. My baby girl starts to have confidence to walk. She has more and more teeth. Her hair starts to grow longer. Well you see my baby girl will turn one year old in few weeks time. I only feel excitement for her as this big day approaches.

Unfirtunately I did not have time to prepare what I wanted for the birthday party and since I am leaving tomorrow and coming back at the end of August, there is no way I will make it. However, I do have a recipe for you. It is a great party food dish and I hope that you will enjoy it: Chicken fillet bites in a parmesan, corn flakes and sesame crust
INGREDIENTS for 6 people
500gr chicken fillet (about 4 fillets)
for the marinade
1/4 of a cup teriyake sauce
1 tbsp yogurt
2 tsp curry powder
for the crust
2 cups plain corn flakes, pulverized in a food processor
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/3 cup parmigiano reggiano
for the sweet and sour sauce
250ml water
2 tbsp white vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup tomato juice
1 tbsp corn flour
DIRECTIONS
Cut the chicken into strips and marinate overnight with the teriyaki, yoghurt, curry
Preheat oven at 190 oC. In a small bowl mix the crust ingredients. Take each of the marinated chicken strips and dip it in the crust, so that all its sides are coated well.
Line a baking sheet with greaseproof paper and bake in the oven for 25 minutes, or until golden. Turn once half time.
For the sauce: place all the ingredients in a saucepan and boil until it slightly thickens and can cover the back of a spoon.
Serve hot.
Oh thank you for the invite - I hope I can make something you like!
Yous daughter is so cute - I love the little feet!!
Hi dear i just sent you my recipes for the beautiful party hosted by you. Hope u have many more momments to enjoy! all the best for the party
Happy birthday to your little girl!!! There's nothing like a first birthday party. I made Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes with Caramel Cream Cheese Frosting last year for my little girl's first and they were a hit with her. Izzy's Mom from Izzy Eats gave me the advice to serve cupcakes, and I'm glad I did. Easy for people to serve themselves, the kids love them. Definitely a good thing.
Happy Birthday to sweet Mayumi. Have a recipe perfect for your Party event which I will be sending to you.
Ooo... a party! An early happy birthday greeting to sweet Mayumi. Hehe, lovely name and it sounds like Jap too. ;) I have a party idea but my camera is not with me at the moment. Will post it soon. Was something I made for our National Day celebration for the kids yesterday.;)
Give a few more hugs and kisses from me too to your little one! I can imagine your excitement - motherhood is a second gateway to childhood!! Thanks for the invitation, and I hope I will be able to send in an entry soon!
